Nutrition Resource Centre 2018 Forum: Unpacking Food Literacy

Food literacy is an important strategy to enable healthy eating and can help reduce the burden of obesity and chronic disease. Growing concerns about unhealthy eating habits, including consumption of too many processed foods and beverages and the lack of food literacy in children, youth and adults has inspired the theme for this annual forum.

Join health professionals, service providers, educators, students, researchers, food literacy champions and government decision makers as they showcase innovative programs and initiatives, and share the latest research, resources and tools to help consumers make healthier food choices.

Learn about the components of food literacy and how the term is defined; understand the current state of food literacy and programming in Ontario and beyond; hear about the latest research and strategies to impact and evaluate behaviour change through food literacy programs, policies and interventions.
