Rising to the Challenge Test

You Can Help Improve Child Health

CCNHD Case For SupportWith your support, our researchers, educators and partners can solve questions of nutrition and health that they could not answer alone. Together, we can improve the lives of children and families in Canada and around the world.

Our work on obesity and malnutrition will inform public policy, support better food production and processing, and lead to improved public outreach and patient engagement.

We aim to raise $20 million for the Centre over the next five years — and we’re more than half way there already.

Friends of the Centre

We invite you to join a very special circle of donors known as Friends of the Centre.

Through Friends of the Centre, we will raise $500,000 for the Centre’s immediate needs. Giving to Friends of the Centre will fund:

  • Creative Public Education and Outreach

Your gift will support the Knowledge Translation team led by Mike Evans and nutritional science researcher John Sievenpiper. Their mission is to convey complex but important nutrition information to families and children — through clear, simple and engaging videos and communications.
  • Students and Future Innovators

Your gift will support our students and trainees. Medical education, research training and health professions education is critical for improvements in child nutrition across society. The Centre will produce leaders who can ask the right questions, design health interventions and build relationships among government, corporations and community groups.

Friends of the Centre will also fund priority research areas including gene and diet interactions in chronic disease; regulation of metabolism and feeding behaviour in children and adults; impact of omega-3 fatty acids on brain development and behaviour; and insulin resistance, cell function and metabolism in childhood obesity.

We welcome all donation amounts. You can pledge over a period of time or make a one-time only gift.

When you contribute to the Friends of the Centre, you join dedicated people committed to tackling the most pressing issues in child and family nutrition.
