What Your Donation Funds

Giving to Friends of the Centre will fund:

Public Education and Outreach
Your gift will support the Centre's knowledge translation team. Led by researchers Mike Evans and John Sievenpiper, the team's mission is to convey complex but important nutrition research in creative, accessible, innovative ways that engage and educate the general public.

Students and Future Innovators
Your gift will support the Centre's students and trainees. Medical education, research training, and health education are essential for preparing future health care leaders who can ask the right questions, design interventions, and build relationships among government, corporations, and community groups.

Life-Changing Research
Friends of the Centre will also fund priority research areas, including:

  • Gene and diet interactions in chronic disease
  • Regulation of metabolism and feeding behaviour in children and adults
  • The impact of omega-3 fatty acids on brain development and behaviour
  • Insulin resistance, cell function, and metabolism in childhood obesity
